HAZELNUTS VACUUM PACKAGING
The hazelnuts harvest usually takes place in autumn, when the fruit is fully ripe and can be removed easily from the tree falling to the ground. In some areas harvesting begins even before late August.
The hazelnuts are in general harvested from the ground, but sometimes to facilitate the operation some networks are stretched between a tree and the other.
After harvest, the nuts are left in the sun to dry for at least a week. Then you can proceed to packaging. Hazelnuts in shell, whole roasted, in grain and powder are vacuum packed so as not to oxidize the product and to preserve intact the quality.
Hazelnuts can be handled in nylon bags or raffia, conveniently sewn with sewing machines for bags.
VACUUM PACKAGING IN ENVELOPE
We have different vacuum chamber machines, the most suitable models for the packaging of hazelnuts are the DZ 400 T model and DZ 600 2S.
Both stainless steel, is different in size of the room, the number of sealing bars and power of the vacuum pump.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MODELS
Vacuum machines with external suction:
FPVAC 33-43-53
The models with external suction are less powerful and slower packaging machines than the bell models and are normally used for low productions.
Vacuum packs with external suction use only embossed bags.
Bench vacuum chambers: (recommended)
DZ 260 T sealing bar mm. 260, chamber size mm. 385x282x100h, 8 m³/h vacuum pump.
Little vacuum chamber machine, already with chamber but with reduced packing height (10 cm)
It is suitable to pack small bags of hazelnuts but also cold cuts and little bulky products
The DZ 400 T model for bench has one frontal sealing bar of 370 mm so can pack bags up to a width of 35 cm. Chamber size mm. 400x370x120/180h, vacuum pump 20 m³/h.
Vacuum chamber with trolley:
The DZ 600 2S model is equipped with a frame with wheels and has two parallel sealing bars of 600 mm that allow to seal more bags simultaneously. Chamber size mm. 530x620x160/250h. Vacuum pump 40 m³/h. The DZ 600 2S model also allows for the packaging of glass jars containing cream or jams.
All the vacuum suction bell to use smooth envelopes.
VACUUM CHAMBERS: THEIR OPERATION
To realize the vacuum simply insert the hazelnuts in the bag, place it inside the chamber with the edges resting on the sealing bar and close the cover. The machine automatically performs the vacuum cycle and sealing of the bag. At the end an acoustic signal indicates that the cycle has ended. At this point you can open the lid and remove the bag perfectly sealed.
Subsequently on the vacuum packed bag, you can apply a cardboard jumper, containing the name of the company, nutrition information and the lot number and expiration date.
The batch number and expiry date are printed using a rotary marker with solid ink.

Then the bag header is sealed or fixed on the envelope by using brassed eyelets with written guarantee
